The United States and the United Kingdom are not visa-free; US travel requires an approved ESTA or visa, and UK travel requires an ETA or visa. From 2026 the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) will require a pre-travel authorization for Schengen entry, which is a travel authorization rather than a visa, so Schengen destinations remain visa-free.
